Do you really want an abortion?

Mental health providers are treating an increasing number of women who are suffering mental and emotional difficulties as a result of induced abortions. The best available evidence indicates that on average there is an eight year period of denial during which women who were traumatized by their abortions will repress their feelings. There are a number of women who suffer post-abortion trauma.

Important Questions to Ask

  1. Did you get a second opinion to make sure you are pregnant?
  2. Will the doctor be available to treat you if there are complications and does he/she have hospital privileges? (Many abortionists do not.)
  3. Does the doctor and clinic have adequate medical malpractice coverage? (Many abortionists have been sued so many times they can no longer obtain insurance.)
  4. Will the doctor perform an ultrasound and allow you to view the screen?
  5. Has the doctor fully explained all the possible short and long-term complications, including medical as well as psychological?
  6. Do you really want to have the abortion, or is someone forcing you into it? If you are feeling rushed or confused, perhaps your conscience is warning you not to proceed with the abortion. If your conscience is bothering you now, it will be worse after the abortion.
